Stephen G. Drendall
Attorney Stephen Drendall has been licensed to practice law in Indiana since 1979 after a year of supervised practice with Legal Services Program of Northern Indiana. From the start his main areas of practice have been family law and consumer law. He has worked extensively in all areas of family law as a legal counselor and representative, mediator and court-appointed spokesman for children. Through his long work with LOGAN Center, Dungarvin and other advocates for the developmentally disabled, he has handled the most adult guardianships of any local attorney.
He is a Certified Family Law Specialist by the Indiana Family Law Specialization Board and a certified Family Law Mediator. He subscribes to newsletters and treatises of the National Consumer Law Center in Boston. He is the only attorney in the County listed under consumer law. He was a Public Defender for 18 years.
He is a member of the Indiana and St. Joseph County Bar Associations. He has served as Judge Pro Tem in criminal and civil divisions of the St. Joseph Superior Court. He has received service awards from the Indiana Pro Bono Commission, LOGAN, the Indiana Civil Liberties Union and Common Cause/Indiana. He has been a guest lecturer at Notre Dame Law School, Saint Mary’s College and area schools, and served on numerous civic Boards of Directors.
His main hobby is singing, as a soloist in area churches and synagogues and with the nationally-acclaimed South Bend Chamber Singers. He has soloed with the Elkhart and LaPorte Symphony Orchestras. He has completed two marathons. His wife, Deborah, is a South Bend native. His two children have graduated from Notre Dame.
Anna Drendall Saar
Attorney Anna Drendall Saar has been licensed to practice law in Indiana since 2015 and Illinois since 2014. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame and her law degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law after completing one year at Drexel University School of Law. Throughout the course of her studies, she worked closely with attorneys practicing family law. During this time, she gained experience and knowledge of all facets of the field, from mediation and collaborative law to fighting for clients’ rights in the intense Chicago and Philadelphia legal systems.
Since beginning as an associate attorney in 2015, she has focused her practice on family law. She has represented clients involved in a wide variety of family cases ranging from divorce, custody and child support to guardianships and adoptions. She is currently a member of the St. Joseph County Family Law Group and looks to build her practice as a prominent family law attorney in St. Joseph County and the surrounding areas. She also has experience helping clients with estate planning, personal injury matters, and minor traffic offenses.
In her free time, she enjoys maintaining her love of dance, attending classes in ballet, modern, jazz and tap. Prior to pursuing the study of law, she was a member of Patchwork Dance Company and participated in several local performances, as well as competitions and master classes with the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. She is also an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering on her favorite teams and playing fantasy football. She and her husband, Steve, live in the South Bend area and welcomed their first son in the Spring of 2017.
